Dino hat

This is my dino hat that I have inherited (as zillion other things) from my friend, Peti. When I am wearing this hat I am the most popular person, my mom feels like being related to a superstar. We are stopped left and right and everybody tells us how cute I am. It is an excellent chick magnet. :-)
Thank YOU Peti!

Facing forward...

I now face forward on car rides and my vestibular system (internal GPS
and balance) doesn't mess with my brain... Car rides are now fun! I
hated travelling backwards!

Inspecting the sail trim...

I know I'm only 360 days old, but I do know how to adjust the sails.

This is the boat at the Triangle Town Center. It's part of the rental
fleet and needs a bit of work, as the rudder is stuck and I can only
sail in circles.

Snowman!

It has snowed a lot in Raleigh and we have been out to play in the
white stuff many times. I got two sleds for Christmas, the plastic
blue one seen here and a wooden one that needs waxing on the runners
before we go in wet snow... this snow was really wet and great for
packing snowballs.

Lorent 10 month best--CLICK on the photo for more pictures

This month was busy and amazing for me. My days are scheduled, if you know my mom, it does not come as a surprise. :-) I do all kinds of activities: the library class on Mondays, the Gymboree activity on Tuesdays and Fridays and all the mom and baby meetings the other days. I love meeting new people and I love going out.

I almost have forgotten that unfortunately we have been sick, both mom and I had the cold, so for about two weeks it was no fun to be around us. After that we were back to normal.

My number 8 tooth cut through, so far that was the most painful. I was not shy and let my parents know many nights how much it was hurting me.

My Uncle Terry came to visit us because my other uncle, Uncle Tom came back from his good -will trip from South-America. There is nothing else in this world that I love more then spending time with my family. Of course, first of all I love my parents, but if my extended family is around, they are more relaxed, so it is even better.

We have celebrated the first Thanksgiving together, and we have so much to be thankful for. I always hear it from my parents how thankful they are that I am in their life. It makes me feel superb.

I started to stand up and hold my own. Sometimes it is hard, I got some scratches but other then that I am enjoying my newly found freedom.

Mom and Apple Pie: American!

What a day it was! My mom became an American citizen. She came to the US in 1999 September with an international scholarship program from her college. She only wanted to stay for those 18 months and then live her life back in Hungary. Life had different plans for her, specially from the moment when she and my dad met.

She has met the love of her life here, found a very supportive family and had me. Her cup is full ( or almost, only a job is missing).

While my mom was saying The Oath of Allegiance, she was thinking about the beginnings and also about Great Grandpa Metz who came many years ago before her. Now, our family can live here, freely, comfortably without too many worries. America is the greatest because it is the only country in the world where the differences are celebrated and supported.

My mom is happy and very proud to be an American citizen.

Mikulas Nap--CLICK ON THE PICTURE TO SEE MORE OF THE PHOTOS

Tonight was a big day for me and for my family. St. Nicholas has arrived at our house and because I have really, really behaved very well this year I got all kinds of stuff. The best was that I got to celebrate with my friends: Peti, Matyi, Zsombi, Imi Domi and Christopher. We had so much fun and our parents were singing and telling us poems about St. Nick. THANK YOU MIKULAS for visiting us, especially when you are so busy!!!
I thought I will give my parents a gift too, so imitating my older buddies I started standing unsupported and just going into walking from there. I don't need to pull myself up to stand anymore. My parents were so amazed by that , I honestly think that I managed to surprised them.

Happy St. Nicholas day!... and hey everybody put your shoes out into the windows, you can never know what Santa is bringing for you. Let's hope you were nice!

I'm still deciding about her! I think you can see that on my face.

In the background you can see my PhD friends Bali and Orsi, they just
off the same flight too...

Hiking at Falls Lake

After the turkey fiesta this weekend we decided to go for a nice hike at Falls Lake. It has been a while, the last time we have been there I was still in my mom's belly right after Christmas and then my mom was huffing and puffing because I was already pushing on her everything. This time it was different. My dad was carrying me in the new Snugli and of course Ocean doggy was the leader, some things never change. It was so amazing, I could not stop smiling, we were all happy. With the fresh, crispy clear air we have worked up our appetite, so just to keep our form we went to have lunch. I ate so much that even our waitress was wondering if I am still putting the food in me or under the chair. I liked this hiking business, I am ready to repeat it any day.

The 9th Month

I know, I know the 9th month is long gone but take up this issue with my mom. :-) Here she is posting the pictures from that month.Just click on the picture and it will take you to the whole album. Even though it was just last month it seems so long ago.
It was a nice month, I started sleeping better, practiced standing a ton, enjoyed plenty of new tastes like: white bread toasted, rice, cheese, broccoli. Unfortunately we also had to start some formula but only in a small quantity. My mom wrote to our diary almost every day that I was cute, adorable or lovely. Can a young men like me wish for more?

Baby's First Thanksgiving

I am stuffed with pie, cranberry and sweet potatoes. And I still can move around. How about you? Most of my trousers had to be changed though, I am done with the 9 month clothing. My mom had to refresh my clothes today.

We are very thankful for each other, it is heart warming to have such a nice family and man I was lucky to be born into this one! They love me sooooo much. :-)

Post thanksgiving dinner

Here is what I had for my day after Thanksgiving Dinner:
Organic Goat Cheese hand-rolled (by Dad) in to little balls
Puffs
Bluebearies ('cause bears eat them)
Pears
Organic finger potatos (cut to eat)
Roast Beef (cut to eat)
Sliced Ham (pulled to pieces)
Brita filtered water
Vanilla Yogurt

The first Halloween

Just go head and click on the picture, it will take you to a side where you will be able to see all of my adventures for our first Halloween.
It was great fun, my parents and I and some of our friends had so much laughter that at the end of the night my head was hurting and I just did not want to go to bed. I partied very late, way after 8:00 pm.
My neighborhood is perfect for Trick or Treating, I have gathered chocolates and candy but my parents do not allow me to eat them yet. The hot chocolate at the Clock Tower was not enough, so at home we had cider and Judit's home-made pumpkin pie. Yummy! Also, our neighbors baked chocolate chip cookies, that was a real special treat, thanks. :-)
I truly enjoyed my very first Halloween, it is a fun tradition and the best is that many more are yet to come.
