My mom has some more things to write:
September was the first month that I decided what ever happens I am not going in into Lorent's room any more overnight. I can't do it physically, mentally, I am just constantly exhausted. Keeping up with him during the day feels like being one of the extreme marathon runners (except I am missing any requirements for it), even an easy day is minimum a half a marathon.
So, we are in training....in sleep training. If you are reading this blog and have any suggestions how I could help him, please don't hold yourself back and let me know.
Our night time routine is always the same: he goes up on the staircase around 7:20-7:30 pm, bath with music, pj time, last bottle of milk with the same music and sound machine and by 7:45 pm he is sleeping. We did the sleep training with him when he was 4 and half month old, then he has learned how to fall asleep. It took him four month ( I am sure we were the tafest clients of Shelly) but he got it and there is no more cries, no fuss, just the super men move landing on the bed and going to sleep.
The second part of the problem, with the waking up in the middle of the night and way to early in the morning has never been resolved.
Here is this month in numbers:
15 nights -----he slept through until 7 am ( actually 5 of these nights were until 6:30 am but I am considering this into this group ) this is the great news
6 nights ------he woke up in the middle of night somewhere between 2:00- 5:00 am and was up for 2 hours to one time 3and 1/2 hours
9 nights ------he woke up to early, between 5:30 am and 5:45 am. My tactic in this case that I let him speak and party until 6:30 am , then I give him a bottle of warm milk, change and put him back to bed. Sometimes he falls back to sleep for an other hour , sometimes he doesn't and I take him out of the crib around 7:15 am.
What do you think?
