Lorent-ism

We are asking Lorent:
  • What are you doing? His answer: I am working on the PUTER. (he means on the computer)
  • Lorent is crying, obviously I did something, so he tells me: --That's not a good apology Mommy, do it again!
  • Lorent can be super busy, let's say for a whole two minutes. When he is in the zone, we can not disturb him. On one of these occasions he told us: --I hear you but I am working on my PERIMENT. (he means experiment).
  • I folded up the laundry on the top of our bed. I came out of the closet and all the clothes are in the kitchen all over the place. So , I ask Lorent: Who did this? --He says: Your son did it!
  • He tells his dad every night: -- Don't watch TV and go to sleep that you don't break down. ( It is very rare that Theo watches TV.  We tell Lorent that his toys need to go to sleep because if they don't get rest they will break down.)

Tow truck!

Our friend Sly came for a visit and punctured his sidewall on the sewer drain. He got towed away, and I watched the whole thing!

Excavator!

Last summer when we visited Uncle Tom in Wilmington, he taught me how to operate a backhoe. So, today, next to my favorite diner [Waffle House] they are building something and this excavator was open. Dad and I got a little muddy while checking it out. Here I am getting oriented to the controls. Only after our exploration did we see the "No Trespassing" sign. Since I'm not so good at reading (I do know my letters though!) if we got arrested, I'm sure mom would blame dad for that error!

Happy third Birthday Lorent!

LORENT-isms at 3

***Lorent wants to do everything on his own. The breakfast is no exception and recently he is into eggs. He likes to peel the hard boiled egg, standing over the sink on a chair and he only eats the white part, the egg yolk goes to Ocean. So, one morning I am telling Lorent : Mommy: Lorent, it is very hard for mommy to supervise your independence! Lorent: No, mommy! My "INPEPENDENCE" is fine. ***Lorent has since couple of month imaginary friends.(It does freak me out, I guess because of my brother) but here is his story. :-) He has two cats: JENNER and KARL. Jenner is a blue cat and Karl is the orange one. Sometimes they are in his room, sometimes they are here in the kitchen. Daddy bought them cat food, which we keep under the table but they are not hungry. To the full story: we tried to research if he has ever heard these two names at daycare in a story or where did he got these names. We do not know anybody with these names, did not read any stories with these names and even at the daycare we got the no answer. HOW did he came up with these names??? There is either an other dimension that kids are still able to see or there is truly life before this life. I guess we just have to wait it out. ***When Lorent really, truly agrees with something he says: " I ARE" F.e.: Lorent, you are silly. ------Yes, I are. ***When we have to do a couple of things , he always says: --Na, first things first. *** Sad, funny: Grandma, Nagyi is here from Hungary. They still do not have a good relationship, unfortunately Lorent is not friendly towards her. But in the first couple of weeks it was very bad. Lorent said: ---NO, don't do that, you are not my mother!!! (Again, where has he ever heard a sentence like that????)

Best of Lorent's 3rd birthday party at Playnation---Click on the photo for all the pictures

This was a big , exciting day for me. I was waiting for this party like for nothing else. I talked about it all the time, wanted all my friends and family together, made my list of people who I wanted to have there and finally the day came.I had the biggest garbage truck cake that I can imagine , everything was perfect. Playnation is a very nice indoor play ground, might be hard to find it but when you are there it is fun, fun, fun. All my friends came, everybody was happy to celebrate with me and they all made me feel very very special. Thank YOU all for my presents, for the love and playing together! Come again and play with me often throughout this year!

I am preparing for my birthday since July. I knew exactly that I wanted to have a Garbage truck party. Matter of fact a big party, big cake where I blew out the candles like this: Woosh! Oh, and I wanted to have all my friends. I gave up the lesson to my parents , specially because I started to talk about it more and more how time has passed. In December I was actually counting back the birthdays, how many and I will have mine. My parents truly felt the pressure because I was very sweet but I know what I wanted. So, they got to work and made me a super awesome birthday party on my actual birthday with my closest friends and also organized me a big party two weeks later. On my birthday I woke up and the house covered in balloons, I thought that is my present. All my favorite characters, little did I know it was only the beginning. My dad, mom and grandma outdid themselves with the cake, the scavenger hunt and my friends. I truly had one of the best days on my birthday! Thank YOU all for making me feel special!

Happy New Year'

It's new years eve eve, 940 at night and I had a huge nap this
afternoon, so I'm awake. I ran to the kitchen to eat grandmas
donuts .... My parents are oblivious!

Breakfast!

Here is what I'm eating for breakfast these days.... I know the apple
juice is watered down! I don't like the yellow in the eggs! The skin
on apples isn't my favorite - so I appreciate it when it's cut off.
The dried fruit is yummy! Mom doesn't like me eating sugar coated
cereal, but Dad checked and it has less sugar than Cheerios! Dad
hates the smell of peanut butter in the morning, but I like it on my
waffles, so he suffers through it. Thanks Mom & Dad!

Cookies - follow-up

Recently, I told you about my grandma making cookies - well, here they are on a cover of a magazine. Pretty cool, huh? (I wonder if they have 'Journal of Garbage Trucks' or similar?)

Cookies!

Grandma made really good cookies!

Sprinkles!

I think you know I like to bake. Well, when I go to the store with my parents, I bug them to buy sprinkles to put on my muffins. This is my collection!

Help!

My parents keep me in a cage when I am causing trouble!

Lights!

At the Life and Science Museum in Durham, they have a train ride with some impressive decorations, including a North Pole igloo castle... Here I stopped to get a closer look at the lights . I ended up unplugging these. I thought it looked better that way.
