There is nothing, NOTHING that feels better then Lorent's little, warm hands around my neck. He sees me from the living room and comes running, running with his not so tiny, size 6 and 1/2 , sausage (how grandma calls them-"cafalade labaival"-) thumping feet on the long corridor, positioning his hands back that he can jump quicker into my arms. Then he closes his arms around my neck and leans into my upper body keeping his face close to my face. Meanwhile he is laughing and giggling and my arms are closed around his body and there, right there, is a second of peace that I would not change for anything. That connection is the highest possible closeness with an other person.
How we are going about our day daily, the little connections are making or breaking our day.
My long time friend, Julia and I had a nice Skype chat the other day finally after 6 month of constant canceling because there was always something more urgent. The laugh that we had carries me on an other couple of month, thanks for that.
My great friend, Bogi who always writes in the right time, picking me up when I need it, always thinking of us and giving me great advice on practically everything - because I need it. To read her letter and thinking that we matter to her makes me always smile.
My Mom-In law, Anne but I call her Annie :-) letting us know that she is well enough to check out one major point on her bucket list : visiting England and Scotland makes me feel proud of her and makes me stronger because that is how I want to be when I am 76 years old. I am so very proud of her!
A letter, from a lost friend, Lenka who writes about her colorful life and wants to know what is new here. She has no idea about Lorent yet, I have to tell her all about him.
My friend, Becky who came over today with her little son and just hung out with us, we were catching up on the recent weeks because our childrens' schedule has changed and we do not get to see each other as often as we would like.
These are the connections that I want to pass on to Lorent, these are the important things. Lorent is a single child and has no other siblings. It is our -his father and I-responsibility that we teach him, that connecting is the best thing ever.
How sweet! Love this post!
